Our Litters

The Pomeranian is a variety of German Spitz.

It is thought that between their ancestors are Germans and other spitzs and also the Norwegian Elkhound and the Samoyed. The inevitable question remains, how to get these little dogs from the hybridesation of such big breeds? The answer to this question is not yet fully elucidated.

Controversial is also the question of its origin, despite its name derived from the Pomerania region, corresponding to today part of German and Poland, and be registered as a German race, the truth is that this breed became popular and was perfected in England, where was also recognized in 1870.

From what is known, the Pomeranian dog was always small, but it was only with its introduction in England that the breed has lost a few centimeters. The German wife of the British monarch George III, Queen Charlotte, was responsible for the issue of race in England. But it would be his granddaughter, Queen Victoria that it would launch the Pomeranian to stardom. During a vacation in Florence, Queen Victoria came into contact with a Lulu named Marco , by which she fell in love. Over the years, the Pomeranian has benefited from the increasing popularity of the monarch.

However, we can not speak of the existence of Pomeranian before the nineteenth century, since even the Queen's dog  didn't fit the standard due to the  weight, which was about 6 kg.

The fashion for small dogs would come around 1800 and the dogs as we known them now, were perfected, by selecting the smallest specimens.
The Pomeranian is a very special  happy and smart dog, dedicated to the entire family always ready to give and receive affection. Detect any abnormalities in the life of the house and rushes to notify them. It is a good alert dog, barking to strangers or new situations.
They learn easily because of the intelligence that characterizes them. They are faithful and much appreciated as a companion dog. It is one of the smaller breeds more independent, perhaps due to the influence of Nordic dogs.
They adapt well to other dogs and other pets. They are docile and enjoy the attention. Being quite alive, provide endless entertainment to anyone engaged in watching them.
The Lulus do well in apartments but need to be paced every day, like any other dog. They like to run freely, which should be allowed only in areas without other dogs. They are always ready for a joke.
The Pomeranian is of all breeds, the smaller variety. The ideal height is 20 cm, but there is a variation of 2 cm.

Honoring the family of Spitzs, when we look at the front of Lulu, the repair the head that resembles the muzzle of the fox. The cheeks are flat and large in relation to the tip of the snout, delicate and slightly tapered. The bright eyes are dark, medium size. The ears are small and upright, similar to the fox, and covered in short hair, like the rest of the head and the ends of the legs.

The Pomeranian is characterized by a tail covered with long hair way up and then he curls up and lies down on the back.

The hair of the Pomeranian is long, smooth and thick and subpelagem is dense and woolly. One of the characteristic features of this breed is the mane covering the neck and chest. Coat takes three years to reach maturity. Are allowed the colors black, brown, white, orange, shades of gray, two-color, among others.
The Pomeranian is a dog with a life expectancy long tends to be selective with the food, but should not replace the dry food. Due to the high probability of developing dental problems, you should take special attention to dietary habits of the animal. The dry rations are a better way of preventing tartar. It is therefore important.
